Esri Saudi Arabia Signs MoU with University of Bisha to Prepare Students for the Job Market and Develop Joint Academic Programs in GIS

Riyadh, September 2, 2026 — Esri Saudi Arabia, the exclusive distributor of Esri, the global leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Bisha, represented by its College of Science. The agreement establishes a strategic partnership focused on research and development, training, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise in GIS and its applications.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment by both parties to deepen their collaboration and strengthen the readiness of university graduates for careers in GIS, in line with best practices in the field.

Areas of cooperation under the agreement include:

•    Designing and delivering training programs that build students' GIS skills and better prepare them for the job market.

•    Hosting regular workshops and briefing sessions to introduce university staff and graduates to the latest developments in GIS.

•    Serving as a bridge between the University of Bisha and leading U.S. universities specializing in earth sciences and remote sensing, to help establish joint degree programs in GIS.
